Inside Our Current Issue

Spring is all about new beginnings. This issue is the last collaboration between former editor Cari Clement (now the editor of KnitStyle magazine) and myself. Cari (who is also my good friend) chose the beautiful designs and yarns, and I styled the shots and wrote the copy. Cari and I worked together for several years when she was with Caron, where I worked as a designer. Just for fun, I've included a few shots of us together over the years.

We have a new writer, Estella Haines, taking over the "Technique 1-2-3" column that I used to contribute to this magazine. A great knitter and teacher, she brings a wealth of knowledge, organization, and skill to our team—we are lucky to have her! Estella's column in this issue is about using decorative increases, and her capelet projects are the perfect way to keep warm on still-chilly spring days. Find the article on page 24 and the patterns on page 52.

Choose any one of our wraps for a perfect Mother's Day gift—I love the fluid drape of the Flirty Flair Wrap on page 21. Home accessories, amazing afghans, and (of course) adorable baby items are as plentiful in this issue as spring daffodils in the Northeast.

We hope you keep your needles busy this spring with beautiful projects from this issue!
