Inside Our Current Issue
As I look outside my window, I see that the last bits of snow are melting in the spring sunshine. I find myself dreaming of warmer days. I love all of the seasons (which is perhaps why I live on the East Coast), but after a long, hard, snowy winter, the thought of summer is very exciting indeed.
One of my favorite things to do at the beach is to knit. I love working on projects, and people often come up and ask me what I am making. Knitting makes me so happy—I can't imagine giving it up for the warmer months. Every year, The Craft & Hobby Association conducts a survey of stitchers to see what are their favorite things to create. Do you have any idea what the most common answers are? Scarves, hats, and shawls are the most sought-after patterns among knitters. My thinking for this issue is that during the warmer months, why not make a scarf, hat, or shawl to learn a new technique or stitch pattern? The projects are portable, and usually once the stitching is done, you are finished—there are no seams to sew or pieces to put together.
In the last couple of issues, we have run a feature on page 66 that we call "We Love to Hear from Our Stitchers!" We would enjoy seeing photos of your finished projects, so please send one, along with your comments, to us on Facebook or at email@example.com. You may even see your project featured on the page!
